I know it's too dark, her hair is quite a bit out of place, the bottle is obviously not a perfume bottle, the light is too harsh in places, there's a line in the (not quite black) background that i'd have cloned out if it weren't basic.

Trying for quite a dynamic composition, two triangle corners of negative space with a stripe of light from bottom left to top right, crossing the direction of the spray. Trying to make the spray look like it's glowing. Model was holding a flash in optical slave mode pointing up and back into the spray. Flash exposure lock with on-board flash firing, then block on-board flash for the proper exposure to make it underexpose from the front and make a silhouette.

Editing: Crop, increase contrast, levels, resize, sharpen.

Greetings from the Critique Club

Firstly, congrats on an excellent score with a very nice image. I like the composition you chose (I too am a fan of negative space). Love the lighting - it is a bit bright on the spray, but that helps to direct the eye where you wanted the viewer to be - so it works.

The only suggestion I could make for improvement would be to have used a nicer looking bottle - the plastic one hurts the image imo - a nice glass bottle would have given this shot the sparkle needed to make this a really commercial-looking shot.

I hope this is helpful.
Good luck,
Cindi

I'd not seen that before... however, the effect i was going for was quite different. I wanted the spray to glow, and the rest of the frame to be darkness, and the focus to not be on the model. Also i wanted the spray to be real, clear and concrete, rather than a photoshopped blur :)

Congratulations on your top ten finish with this superb spray splash.

I like the mist being illuminated but the finger edges are to much over exposed. Very cool shot none the less. 7

should have used a real perfume bottle, not a plastic water spray one.

I like the use of the backlighting here. I like seeing the droplets. It might be interesting to see a longer exposure, too, to blurr out the spray. 7.

I think it would have been more sensual and sexy if more of her neck were shown rather than just the curve of her shoulder, but that is just my take on it!

Nice frozen action. I like the contrast of the light on dark. just enough of the model to keep intrest and mystery. Well done.

I really like the concept and lighting though the pic is a little overexposed. Would've liked to see a nice bottle of perfume instead of this white spray bottle here. Great shot overall :)

Light on the aerosol is perfect - but a little too much elsewhere.

I really love the contrast between the illuminated spray and the shadows in this photo. The only element that i find slightly distracting is the shade of the bottle. It is just a bit too light. Great shot though!

Really cool effect with the spray. The lighting is really interesting and makes the hand and spray bottle look like something created in Illustrator.
