Great candid. Love the expression and the juxtaposition of the balloon and the grouch. Something about the processing seems a tad off to me though. She doesn't seem to have as much depth or texture as the rest of the image - almost like her face was edited differently. Still a very cool shot.

Great capture. Nice candid. Love the colors and all elements. But for some reason the face (even with the wrinkles) looks very 2 dimensional. Did you use a noise program on the face such as NI or NN? I wonder if it would emphasize the face if you selected it and applied a little emboss to make it stand out. Just a thought.

I vote for the balloon. 8) This is a fine portrait on its own, but the balloon gives it that added quirkiness that puts it in a whole different class.

A great candid shot yet again. The balloon is a little distracting as mentioned and I would of liked a little more brightness on her face. Well done.

I don't think you need to loose the balloon. A different, less contrasting, colour should work. That is after all the essence of the picture ... an old grumpy lady with a frivilous child's toy. I think the postprocessing around the face is overdone.

 i don't find the balloon a distraction.
i see it as two opposites, balloon (general associations: youth, happiness)
while the woman is grouchy and not so youthful.
maybe if the balloon had just a tad more sharpening?

Nice shot, I do have to agree with the others about the balloon being a distraction. Great shot other than that.

Yea, the balloon might be a bit blown out, her face seems a bit too dodged out as well, I love the texture in her face and hat. Loose the balloon and I think you'd have a more powerful image.

The brightness of the balloon is distracting to me on this one. I love the expression in this woman's eyes - but not sure they look grumpy. Great candid shot

Oh my!! How wonderful is this?????? The white balloon might be a distraction in another type setting but here it offsets the dark creases in her face.
