This is a finally sanded piece of cedar wood on one side and natural on the other. A neighbor of mine made this art work for my 36th birthday.

I couldn't see where you were coming from with this. Was the contrast the smoother surface and the fibres beneath? Not sure..

I will be curious as to how your shot does in the end, I really like it, I like the curves at the edges of the wood. The colors are incredibly rich and I like the way you have composed it. The lighting feels warm. Curious what the spotting is on the top right in black area? Is that in the post processing? great shot
