Challenge: Your Shadow II (Advanced Editing IV)
Collection: Portfolio
Camera: Sony DSC-F717
Location: Art Building
Date: Feb 2, 2006
Aperture: f/2.1
ISO: 120
Shutter: 1/30th
Galleries: Black and White
Date Uploaded: Feb 2, 2006

I thought of this almost immediatly after I saw the challenge. Thanks to scalvert for the inspiration.

Took a picture of myself, photoshopped it to total black, tranferred it to a powerpoint presention and projected the "shadow" onto a white screen. Then put the camera directly under the projector (tripod on top of a table) and set the self timer and took a bunch of pictures. Tried using a flash, another desk lamp I brought with me, the overhead lights, but eventually ended up only using the projector for the lights. This was the last shot I took because I finally got the position (body position, and hand position) and expression I was going for.

Um, editing. More editing on this entry than I usually do: grayscale, cropped, healed/cloned the shadow behind me, healed a few spots here and there, turned up the levels (high contrasted), image size, bit of burning, and usm.

Soli Deo Gloria - only to glory of God.

Really great shot. Your shadow oviously combs his hair more than you.

I like this idea. It would be nice to have the shadow more in focus though.

Simple but great! BW works well, I also like the composition. The boy's expression is talkative and reflects both curiousity and uncertainnes because of the relationship with the shadow.
