I guess you got hit because folks thought it wasn't an abstract. I personally really liked this photo and had it tied with my other top pick.

Not really an abstract picture, but an awesome find. Very nicely composed and exposed. 8 Bumping up to 10. Don't care that this is not abstract, it's a wonderful shot! :)

This is an interesting reflection shot, but since its subject matter is very easily recognizable and not really "abstracted", I don't think that it's really appropriate for this challenge.

This is not an abstract IMO. It is a landscape, with a reflection. It this was done with a D200, and you double exposed, than IMO, you missed a great opportunity.

Definition 1= Art that departs significantly from natural appearances. Forms are modified or changed to varying degrees in order to emphasize certain qualities or content. Recognizable references to original appearances may be slight. The term is also used to describe art that is nonrepresentational.

Definition 2=Not realistic, though the intention is often based on an actual subject, place, or feeling. Pure abstracion can be interpreted as any art in which the depiction of real objects has been entirely discarded and whose aesthetic content is expressed in a formal pattern or structure of shapes, lines and colors. When the representation of real objects is completely absent, such art may be called non-objective.

Interesting pix, comp ok, color good, yellow line ok for me as an fx, nice lines, nice flow, ok texture, nice light, overall an ok pix but not for this challenge

A good photograph that doesn't really fit the challenge.

looks like a puddle reflection, the yellow line could fool someone as a spot light, interesting and good you are looking down out shooting.
