What a comeback! Rarely does the border add to the image so well as in this example. Congratulations on very well deserved 7th!

I think Mapplethorpe would be a bit more "in-your-face," and perhaps less "artsy," but this is a great photograph, nonetheless.

great sepia/duo tone-works great for this image.
i would have like to have seen more of the person underneath, but maybe that was your intent?
and maybe perhaps a bigger image?
actually, maybe there isn't a person underneath?
maybe he has just suffered a horrific motorcycle accident and his his arms are mangled like that?
maybe it isn't even a he?
whatever, it's a good image and i'm sure it will do well.

The best part of this image the emphasis portrayed around the subject it draws the viewer in wondering what's really going on.

Quite Mapplethorpe-y and very well done. I even like the large border on this one - works well.

Strong, powerful and persuasive with lovely tones that sink into bottom of the image as if to the seat of desire. Bumping up.

Good picture. Mapplethorpe seemed to use more even lighting on this male nudes. There seemed to be less shadow in those. However, as I know (hint), his portraits are very light and dark.

I'm not so keen on the border, the only reason why is because this is a magnificent picture and I would love to see more of it, the border takes away from its size. Either way a fabulous photograph, everything here is just lovely and sensual.

Seems a little too romantic for Mapplethorpe, but this is a beautiful image. I love the lighting on the skin, and the framing is wonderful. The arms and hands almost seem to be a personification of auto erroticism -10

Nice image which I like quite a lot. Normally not a fan of borders but this one works well. I like the minimalist approach to the subject. Lighting, levels, contrast and skin tones are terrific. Not especially like Mapplethorpe images I could find on the net, however.
