 Shoot last August and saved off the hard drive towards the end of the year. It is about the best dahlia macro image I have ever taken, I think.

Post: I had processed this at the end of last year and put it up and it won a few times. But I filled in something at the bottom which might have been questionable, so I reprocessed from the original. This is a full crop to print aspect ratio. I must have used the 10x close up filter but I guess I did right for once.

Crop. Layer adjustments for levels (25% opacity), brightness/contrast and hue/saturation (each 75% opacity). USM. Resize. USM

This is one of a few in this challenge that I can't figure out why it didn't place much higher. The DOF is perfect and the color balance is just enough to give it life without overdoing it (something I feel like is too often done with floral shots).
