Georgia Aquarium - true candid & very hard for me to do (I hated taking pics of strangers!) I used a 2.8 aperture, but I guess I wasn't close enough to really isolate the subject that way; I ended up blurring a bit.

PP:
Crop
Hue / Saturation / Curves
Select other than subject
15% blur on other than subject
On subject:
Clone / Healing brush: rings under eyes, distracting shirt on left, white rectangle near elbow, reflection of white rectangle
Dodge & burn using 50% gray layer with paint
On whole:
Crop again
Size, sharpen & save for web

Wow! This is very nice. Love the reflections. The are just strong enough to see the face and yet gives the idea of being in an aquarium.

This is really good. Technically I'd say that it was terrific (with one small criticism - the highlights on her "real" face are a bit bright IMHO). Love the POV and composition. Very strong shot.

::: Greetings from Critique Club :::

Hi, as requested, here is an indepth critique of your submission.

First Impression - the most important one:
WOW, at first glimps I thought she was looking at a painting. Then I realized that the painting included the subject with a fish about to bite here ear. LOL. I must admit, you made me have to stop and look again. A doubletake is a good thing.

Composition:
VERY strong, good use of Rule of Thirds!

Subject:
Strong, well defined, good use of Post-Process blur to achieve the DoF you wanted.

Technical (Colour, focus, and light):
Focus: very sharp
Colour: Maybe the flesh tones are a tad on the blue side, but it helps the "aquarium" feel.
Light: Love how it highlights her face.

To grow its vote?:
I honestly can't see a way to improve this photo. It made it to 17th place which is a good accomplishment. It's got everything a photo needs to ribbon. Interest, creativity, all technicals. Perhaps, bribing voters will help... LOL.

Summary:
I love it. One of the most creative shots in the challenge, definitely keep up this kind of work! That ribbon is on it's way!

Hope to see more from you soon,
Leroy

Nice candid with shallow DOF to isolate the subject. I appreciate the title as I was unsure what I was looking at until I read it, LOL. Well done

God, I love reflections. Notice how she is singled out even from her own reflection. 10.

Nice shot - thought I was looking at post-processing darkening, then bingo - it's a reflection!

Nice picture! Took me a while to understand what was going on. :) I think that a little more isolatio by thinner DOF would be appropriate.

This is cool. I love the reflection as part of the narrow DOF. Interesting and the light on her face illuminates and helps single her out more.
