 Taken during the change of classes on campus. I blurred surroundings and converted to b/w and then bummped up contrast to +5. Used guick mask and gradient tool and blur.

Crowd? One guy way in the background is not a crowd. She is singled out because she is pretty much alone. This seems to have missed the point of the challenge.

"Drop your fear of candids this week and single-out a *person in a crowd* as your source of composition. Use minimal depth-of-field to your advantage to help isolate your subject, and as always, be creative"

Lovely hair and setting.
The girl in the shot wasn't isolated from a crowd by minimal depth a field, and the manual blur added on the trash can throw this off-balance. Nice B&W levels. I would be interested to see this, without the added blur and a tighter crop with all or most of the trash can out of it. (5)

Unconvincing within the challenge quidelines, excellent light, dead on b&w, good texture, good dof, overall very good pix

The composition is a bit boring, having the main subject in the middle of the frame, and there isn't all that much to single her out from...

the shot is nice and I like the B & W and the soft focus...composition could do with a little crop in the top because her head is too close to the centre for me

Nice picture, but she really isn't singled out from the crowd, and it looks as if you went overboard with the blurring tool.
