 This is actually not an island, but a little peninsula off the Brazilian island Morro de Sao Paulo (near Salvador do Bahia), connected to the main island by a thin strip of sand on the left which I cloned out thanks to the advanced rules :) Did multiple passes of selective saturation/brightness/contrast for sea, sky, sand, and foliage. Neat image. Sharpening.

the title is of course from the John Milton's classic poem.

Good composition. If this is in the Indian ocean where the tsunami hit, then I wonder if a better layout would have been to evoke more thought through the use of water rather than cloud (nice and featured though that is). Therefore pointing the camera downwards showing an expanse of ocean with the island at the top. Getting low to the waves would enhance that ominous feeling of what once occured here.

lovely shot. the clouds are just great ... you've got a bit of everything there, from the little cumulus puffballs to the altocirrus streakies to the developing thunderheads. what an island, too.

Looks like a post card or the start of Gilligan's Island! This could be a stock photo for a travel agent or any kind of Caribbean travel! Nicely done!

Like it, looks like a lovely spot to visit and would make a great postcard. Horizon looks a little crooked though but I am not sure, could be my eyes are fooling me there. 7 from me.

Oh my - this encapsulates a whole little world in one image. Talk about panoramic!! Holy smokes. The blues to aquas is perfect. I love the rich sky and the moevement of the clouds. 9 all day long!!!
