kind of a last minute shot...just wanted to play along. :) nothing special here...just a green marble on top of a rotten piece of board. i like the mixture of smooth and rough textures.

______________
with regard to the title, it's a Black Crowes song and i thought it fit the image because of the green.

and no...i didn't use that title because i think everyone should be jealous of my skills. sheesh!

"nothing special here...just a green marble on top of a rotten piece of board."

You`re absolutely right.
and a lesson for others in how to create something special out of nothing special.

Very special talent.

Great image, just don't get the title. I hope it is not implying that we should be jealous of your skills. That would be presumptuous.

Good image for the challenge.
Its interesting that for a challenge utilizing shape as the major element, you would select a title that refers to color.

I sure am.

The hard green stands out very well from the greys. I like the shallow dof and the flow in this photo. Also the 'perfect' roundness of the 'knikker' (that's what we call them) stands out very well from the rough surface.

I saw the duotoned version and pbase but the green makes the subject stand out a bit better. I think you made right choice here.

Then reflection in the sphere looks like a horizon with a tree or two on it. If that is the case and the image had been cropped to clearly show that scene, this image would been a lot more powerful.

love this shot. the green against the b&w makes it work very well. also, the light shining thru the green ball makes it even better. very interesting. great job!

love the contrast between color of the green marble with light reflection at the base, and the black rough surface, great pic!!!
