Nice photo, but I think a shallower DOF would be nice to minimize the distractions in the background. The man in back really tends to pull my eye away from the subject.

Sure, it looks like a protective Grandpa keeping the kids from stepping into the street, but what you don't see is the hot dog vendor just outside the frame and they are waiting in line and the kids are trying to take cuts.
I'm Paul Harvey with "The rest of the story"

:) Congrats on an excellent photo and the ribbon, Bob!

Love this! If you increased the contrast, the photo would be much nicer. In black and white photography...your blacks should be black and your whites shold be white. This is all grey tones rigt now.

One of the top shots in the challenge for sure. 10

Nice catch - you probably have enough comments about Grandpa being caught mid-blink. Nice mood in BW. Bumping up.

I love a shot that "speaks for itself." City life is certainly represented here, but it also captures a small, seemingly ordinary moment and brings attention to it in a unique and interesting way. I think the composition is PERFECT because it has just that slight bit of street under the curb which represents the danger to which the subject is eluding to with gesture. Technically, I find it perfect as well, great tones! Good luck with this entry!

I'm not a typical fan of "candid", but I LOVE this shot. I also have very few "favorites", but this one is going there. One of only two tens in this challenge for me. Excellent.

I love the look of that grandpa, I wish I had one of those. What a great short. It is sharp where it needs to be, the only issue is, is the black and white overkill, or as a colour did it not work?

A wonderfully captured moment. There are so many things I like about this shot. The way they're all carrying the same bag, the way his hand is gently telling them to stop, the questioning look that the one boy has, and the way they're lined up tallest to shortest. One of my favorite shots of the challenge. Well done!
