Alberto Gnerro (one of the best italian climbers //www.doctorgnerro.it) on a hard route on Aosta Valley (Revers - Italy). This photo is the best of a project about post processing using Linux tools. Only desaturation and level adjustments, no crop. I like this photo because the focus on the climber fallow exactly the intensity of pressure that makes on the holds, on the right hand he had the better one that keeps him in CONTACT width the wall ... that hold makes the difference between solving the problem or be defeated by the gravity ...

Amazing depth in this fine B/W image...

Great use of perspective. Your model is the leading line to your model, I like that. The DOF might be deeper, at least to the head. 9.

This is a great perspective - just would have liked it better if the climber were looking up. Nice DOF

Nice use of perspective. The chalk on the thumb is a bit washed out, but nevertheless it inspires me to get out and climb.

If only the head would be facing up. Still, good use of bokeh.

Great perspective... The arm almost jumps out of the pic and grabs you. As someone who enjoys climbing, this pic really works for me.

nice angle but maybe not the most interesting of shots. i think had the person been looking at the camera and the focus had been o her face, it would have worked better.

Good shot. 5.11?

Simply beautiful! Congratulations on this great capture. I wish you good luck, and a top 50 finish! (An improvement would be to have the climber look up - no need to smile, of course, muscle tension on the face would have been even better. Go back now and tell him to climb again, look up and say cheese:-)

I really like the composition and the creative use of the depth of field. Most people would probably focus on the persons head, rather than the handhold on the rock. Very interesting perspective too. Nice job.
