Took this one out at Arches National Park. Was out winter camping for New Years. I liked it, so I thought I'd enter it. Shot on the last day of the year.

Resize, B&W, Contrast (+15), sharpen, a few clone stamps to clean up the sky, and add border.

I like the vivid contrasts on this - and I actually like the way the sky is over-exposed. Good job!

Rocks and tree truck could have been just a tad brighter. Very nice composition.

A great black & white image here, with the tree being the focus point that works really well.....

nice idea, b&w need help, not enough tonal value, nice texture, light could be better in bg, sky too blown, nice sillouette, nice dof, overall good effort

I was going to say that it's a little too dark in the foreground, but maybe that works.. It's kind of confusing though. Like, does this photo want to be a silhouette, or do we want detail in the landscpe, or is it trying to be both? I don't know! :)

Nice capture, good focus, interesting subject. I think I would have preferred a tighter crop at the top as the light sky detracts from the darkness at ground level, but that is only my opinion. Overall well done

Great shot! A little over exposed in the sky but the solhouette is very nice and the centered composition works very well :) 8

I would like to see a little more contrast in the darker areas, but its still a great shot.

I like this but I'm wondering if kneeling down to get more of the tree in silhouette and have it more separated from the rocks? The rocks on both sides to a nice job to frame things though. 6

Great shot. This would make a great print. I find the small shrub in the foreground a little distracting, but over all a great shot. (7)

I have a weakness for tree pictures. Nice black & white treatment. I also love the mood you've captured.

I like the sky and the tree, but the foreground could use a bit more contrast for my personal tastes.
