December 21st 2005 - a rare day in San Diego due to the huge waves we had.
ND Gradient, basic post-processing, light dodge & burn to bring out more intensity.
Probably get some comments that the horizon shouldn't be dead-center, but oh well, the sky was as much a focal point as the surf and foreground.

Originally had this titled "Relentless", but Sade's Cherish the Day was playing just now and suddenly seemed more fitting.

Post-Challenge:
This was not a PS complete makeover and had very little editing done.

This is gorgeous! Simply gorgeous!! I love b/w and this is one of my favorites of yours. Unbelieveable that you didn't have to do much post editing. I can only image what it was like in person!!

Literally breathtaking. There is so much that I like about this -- the lines formed by the clouds in the sky, the perfect tonal range, great contrast while maintaining the subtle nature of the image.

The three textures, the clouds, the sea, & the rocks really make this a strong B/W seascape image.

Seems like this photo has been dodged and burned... But still beautiful nonetheless.

As the sun set on another Hawaiin day, the volcano returned to its peaceful slumber.

Nice peaceful shot. Very nice location. The black and white conversion definitly adds to the impact of the shot

Very nice B&W, really good contrast and I actually like the unusual hcoice of having the horizon dead centre. It might just be an illusion but the horizon does seem a bit wonky to me though.
