Fun shot.

A picture of just the statue may have been nice too. I like the sharpness of the colors and focus.

Interesting shot. i'm not sure that the time of day works for lighting... I'd prefer to see more light on the building, and less shadow.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE your persective! Beautiful composition.

I love the choice of subject and angle.

This is a wonderful example of using photographic skill to enhance artwork, rather than relying on the artwork to make your picture.

Curious, dull perspective. What could you have done to exploit the statue better?
06/28/2002 10:00:00 PM
What exactly is the statue pointing at?
06/28/2002 07:50:00 PM
I like the concept of the statue pointing out the building for you, nicely clever. Overall, very good shot. The sun flares on the shoulders of the statue are a little strong.
Photo 8 City 8 total 8

I wish this one was a vertical shot --the statue is cut off at an odd place.I think it would have added to the pix if more of the statue could be included. That would also get rid of the building on either side of the center one with the nice details.Nice focus and depth.

for city "life" a bit too static for me. i know the intention was probably to show the silence and calmness at that time but somehow the photo doesn't transport that.
otherwise a very nice shot. the angle is just cool with the finger pointing to the building. maybe zooming more in and a portrait format would be better. that way the less interesting buildings on the left and right side could be cropped out and the building in the middle could be seen fully and also a bit more of the bronze statue.
photo 7, creativity 10, city life 6 = 8

Pity the people aren't real.
06/26/2002 08:52:00 PM
i like the weird reality of this photo.

the street light detract from the impact of the image.
06/26/2002 09:25:00 AM
Very nice perspective. Where is this? I'd like to know.

Very bold composition and nice early morning light.
06/25/2002 09:18:00 AM
an interesting picture.
very nice

Nice shot. Would perhaps of liked to see the top corner of the building in frame."8".Dogman;-)

I like the viewpoint of your photo very much. Great composition and exposure.
06/24/2002 08:23:00 PM
Very nice work. I like the way the windows on the left are reflecting blue from the sky. What building is that? Is there a signifigance between the building and the statue?
06/24/2002 04:15:00 PM
very nice job here with your depth of field... The only part I don't like about this shot is the building corner being clipped by the top edge of the frame... a little lower position and higher angle with the camera would have been nice :) = 6 - jmsetzler

"look son, all the light touches will be yours... nice.
06/24/2002 11:54:00 AM
this is neat

An outtake for the shadow contest? Nice depth of field, and focus. I like how she appears to be point at the shadow on the building.
06/24/2002 11:28:00 AM
Love the angles! Especially the way you use the Rule of Thirds to point to the middle. Good Job!
06/24/2002 11:23:00 AM
good and simple composition

Neat photo. I like how "she" is pointing out a particular window. Good clarity and colors. I wish I could see more of the body of the statue. However, I don't see how this meets "City LIFE".

I love the perspective !! Great idea! I originally gave it a 7, but .. heck heres one more point.
