I had a leaf shot I liked so I did a search on leaf and got inspired by Michael's username. Thanks for the mental image :)

Pointsettia leaf against a winter landscape, selected two gray/silver tones in the leaf and applied gradient to the image. Cropped, adjusted levels, boosed contrast way up, cloned out a bit of my glove, added a border and saved for the web.

Also, this is the first challenge entry with my new camera -- I'm back on the lower side of the learning curve.

With a quite popular lens..... not fast, but capable of a couple of more stops in low light with is. It has a good range & a high creative factor as shown here and also in other work I have seen with this glass..... but I see an expensive over lap, and less sharp to your sixty. Interesting purchase good luck with it. Silver toning is beautiful, obviously carefully made. fyi 7.

Good composition and detail captured in the leaf. Needs something to shine it up a bit more so its more silver instead of grey. Perhaps some frosty edges? I like the sparkly effect in the background from the shallow dof, but still wish the leaf itself was a bit more "silvery".

this comes across as gray, not silver. silver, aside from being more reflective, has blue in it.

Nice use of dof. Good detail on the underside of the leaf. Could have used more contrast to really bring out the silvery tone of the veins.

Nicely done. Background separated from the subject and a great b/w conversion.

Nice sharpness and use of DOF. Good exposure control as well. I might prefer a tiny bit more contrast. Well done and fits the username nicely. :)
