Greetings from the Critique Club

What a beautiful insect. You were richly rewarded, and rightly so, by our voters for this splendid image. The defined gossimer wing formation and the strong coloration make this a delight to examine.

Yes, one of your commentors thought the background/leaf area was a little 'hot' and in a perfect world, that would have been correctible. Maybe a touch of curves? Who knows.

I wish you continued success in DPC and look forward to seeing more of your work.

I had this in my 2nd tier of votes and recall thinking that it must be an Asian variety of dragonfly as it's too colorful for an Aussie one. Nice macro work and congrats on the top 20.

Very nice. Love the detail and color. The blur in the background is perfect to bring out the subject.

Very well done, the focus is right on and the red dragon fly with the green back ground works great:) 10.

8 - Very good macro. Criticism; difficult, to really nit-pick, the glare on the eyes (almost unavoidable), the slight 'blowing' of the grass/leaf it is on and the focus/detail 'fading' down the 'body'. Opportunity capture, natural lighting, etc, make it very difficult likely to adjust/modify any of these 'issues'. A tweaking of the colors perhaps, to try to get the red/green contrasting/vivid more, who knows. Good fit for username. Good capture. Like the composition and 640x640.
