Challenge: Country Life (Classic Editing)
Collection: Portfolio
Camera: Olympus D-490Z
Location: Berkeley, California, USA
Date: Jun 18, 2003
Aperture: 4.4
ISO: 100
Shutter: 1/650
Galleries: Nature
Date Uploaded: Jun 24, 2003

I found this bird's nest in some bamboo between buildings in Berkeley; I was able to get an angle which showed only the plants and the sky. Unfortunately I had the camera set on its regular metering mode instead of spot, so the nest ends up mostly in silhouette.

Also unfortunately I had just returned from a trip to the "country" the day before this challenge started.

Did a little cropping, tone curve, Unsharp Mask.

Because it has country in it does not mean it conveys country life

Meets the challenge but not the most interesting shot.

This shot really does nothing for me. The subject appears to just be some weeds, which isn't that interesting in any way. I'm guessing that your intended subject was that dark area, and I assume it's a nest or something like that, but you can't really tell that from the photo.

Not much here to keep one's interest. Country Home? Now sure I woujld have made that connection without your lead.

Not interesting in the least. Way too busy and the picture quality is bad.
