Effective shadow, flare, light, composition, and subject focus. Cropping out more of the sky may or may not help. Love it.

Good idea and nice lightning, however, its a pitty the sun is not more hidden by the tree, cause of the burned spot.

Your image has a lot of good shots in it. Meaning right now as i write this comment the picture is cropped to the lower 1/3 on my monitor and it leaves a very good shot. (Not degrading your cropping either) I would also think about the title, since the image has a mysterious stranger in the garden quality to it.
