Chased this little bugger with no shoes on (I had been on the beach), got bit by fireants, but finally managed to get a few decent shots. Thinking it is some kind of monarch.

I like this. I'm a Macro wannabe and I shot a butterfly this weekend also. Yours has better colors and DOF. I personally like the nip on the left wing. It makes me wonder what happend to him!

I also chased some bugs this past week. My entry in the Camouflage challenge required me to squat in weeds near the Mississippi River in New Orleans for about an hour.

Good Job on the butterfly.

I'm finding this slightly washed out on my monitor. Maybe just darken a tad with a bit of contrast thrown in, and add a bit of saturation to the colours to pop them out. I like the framing on it. Very well done!

like the centered composition and square crop for this. the lower left section of the butterfly (wing) is looking washed out in comparison to the rest of the butterfly, which is a bit distracting to my eye. lovely colors and dof. like how the guy's holding on to the white flower...nicely sets off the white spots on the butterfly.

Good DOF and sharpness on this little fella. The contrast seems a bit off in the lower left wing. I would suggest using levels to pop 'em out. The background blur works incredibly well for this image. Good capture.

fireants really? wow....

good photo, kinda cliche but thats ok. everyone thinks that is bad but you have to start somewhere. great job on the framing by the way. it's breaking the rule of thirds but does it nicely. great job, keep shooting

I've noticed your photos before, they are pretty good. This new batch is definately no exception. This is very good shot, the contrast and color is wonderful. Looks like your friend there has had a rough go of it also, with part of his wing broke off.

Nice capture! Good detail & color. (Sorry about the fireants - lol) I like how he fills the whole frame.
