I'm sure this will get panned for not using an artificial source of light, but if you think of the moon as a great big reflector maybe I can get away with it...

This is a cool picture but it doesn't really meet the challenge which states: Use a single, artificial light source to dramatically light the subject of your choice - this looks like a natural light source to me.

EDITED TO ADD: I cannot answer my PM's from the site, or email, for some reason. But I wanted to just say that I don't hate this photo. I think it is a very nice moon shot. And your technical interpretation of an artificial light source being the moon for the reflection of the sun's light upon it, IS an interesting one. For that I will bump you up 2 points. Thank you for writing.

Emotive, nice natural framing. I believe the challenge specified an artificial light source? Overall, a very nice shot.

Hmm, is this the moon in reality? If so, DNMC. I actually think it isn't because of the size, so I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. The sillouette is nice and sharp. 6

How is the moon an artificial light source? on second thought, it may be a headlight of your car. I will score accordingly. Stil not much interest for the whole picture. I would have cropped more, and maybe went verticle.

I like this shot, but it is not an artificial light source, IMO.

I'm sorry, but because of the title, I have to think your light source is the moon.
While it is a reflector, its not artifical, IMO. If you did this some other way, then you're just too clever for me.

Is this the moon (not artificial) or a car headlight? The moon DNMC.

It was my understanding that the light was supposed to be artificial. Hmmmmmm
