Camera: Fujifilm FinePix S3000
Location: Austin, Tx
Date: Nov 9, 2005
Galleries: Still Life, Diptych / Triptych
Date Uploaded: Nov 9, 2005

I shot this using a single light source of a floodlight on the deck at night with a black mat board behind it. But I thought it looked so cool after dividing it up, that I submitted it for tryptic as it has more impact as as tryptic.

Applied split action with PS7
Adjusted curves

I love the play between your photo and the title!

This looks like some shots I've seen using tape to split things up, I thought it was done with electrical tape until I read your description. I really like the composition and the idea but I think there are two things that detract a little. A minor thing is that the pear looks a bit soft, but the big thing for me is the highlight caused by the lighting. I guess thats contrary to all the other comments, but I feel like if the lighting were more to the side and a little more diffused it would help the shot out alot.

Wow, Judy.....can't believe some people can't see the artistic value of this shot! You certainly didn't deserve the 1 thru 3's. IDIOTS!

I loved this one - gave it a 9. All that black with the stark orange-yellow of the pear really worked for me. I can definitely imagine this hanging on my wall! Can't believe the score you got. Hmmmmm.

Almost excellent. reflection on centre slice marks it down a fraction.

There doesn't seem to be a reason to have 3 panels except to meet the challenge.
I also think the divisions are too wide.

I see you got hungry while shooting your photo so you took a bite out of your subject. I really like the way the pear is broken up hoizontally. Nice lighting and clarity. Wish I had this hanging in my kitchen. Great job on metting this challenge, 10

I don't like how it is divided, maybe with a smaller border? 6

This is seriously one of the most creative entries in this challenge. Mainly because you dont see the spacing on the left side which is very visually interesting. The pear is in complete showcase and the lighting is superb. Your fabulous title only brings it all into a realm of its own. 10.

This is so unique and striking! Refreshingly unique, and the composition and quality are perfect! One of my top picks for sure!!!!!

Very nice idea. I think that it would have worked much better if you haven't sliced it, but rather just striken over it with black frames.
The bottom separator looks fine, because of the nonexistent curve at the secession point. On the top, it looks like it is a part of another pear.
