Can't thank you all enough for the gracious comments here.
Pictures do not do the moment justice and should be experienced at least once.

dood there's no nobility in being a purist. As artists I say we make the best image we can, be it through photoshop or all in-cam.

That said, i'm not sure there's anything PS could do to make this better than it already is. Beauty-freakin-ful.

well done.

I regret not really having gotten to go to the imperial desert when I was a child growing up in San Diego.

(we were poor, and well most of my time out there we only had a moped for a car - so it's kinda hard to take a family trip out. though I did do some camping out in the desert with my father a few times)

Great shot BTW

Love the deep brown reddish hues on the windswept dunes. And I love how the light carresses the dunes to illuminate the crests and deepen the shadows seen on the dunes. Love the title of the piece as well for it plays into the imagery of the sun just peeking with it's one great eye over the gentle slope of the hill to sneak a look at the wind as it has breathed it's whisper upon the sands.

Love it. Amazing textures on the sand. The moment you captured with the rays from the sun coming over the dune is perfect. I love the subtle blue in the sky and the way you eye follows the top of the dunes over to where the sun is rising. 10.

I think if the sand were a little brighter, then the shadows would be more dramatic, and at the same time. Tough call though, since the sun is already partially blown out. Maybe if taken just a few seconds later?

At first I was a bit ambivalent about the sunflare, but on second thought I really like it. Wonderful capture...

Striking pure image. Really lke the simplistic style. I think it suffers in basic editing, It would be much stronger with more contrast in the sands. 7
