Challenge: Landscape II (Basic Editing III)
Camera: Minolta DiMAGE 7i
Location: Goleta, CA
Date: Nov 6, 2005
Aperture: 8
ISO: 100
Shutter: 30
Galleries: Sky, Seascapes
Date Uploaded: Nov 6, 2005

I took this shot in Goleta, CA about a 1/2 hour after sunset. I had to leave the shutter open for about 30 secs in order to bring enough light in. Cropped and tweaked contrast/lighting/levels/saturation in PSCS.

For those of you who were curious, the bright light in the pic is actually an offshore oil rig

Wow! Amazing shot. What is the light anyway? Awesome job on the colors! The inclusion of the silhouetted rock in the foreground really makes this shot above par. Nice work.

What is that? If that's a badly sensor bloomed sunset than for shame. If it's a rocket launch from the Cape or Vandenburg, than bravo! I can't wait to read the note on this image.

more seascape than landscape, but a very dramatic image... 7

Wow, awesome setting.

Nicely done! Good detail in the reflection of the sun. I would have liked to seen the exposure one stop up, just to see more detail in the clouds. Did you bracket this picture? Perhaps one stop up created too much glare from the sun.

Nice color. The dark area doesn't do anything.

Gorgeous

Fantastic colors, real nice. The sun is maybe a tiny little bit too bright, but oh boy in these situations you have not much time. Why is the shape of the sun so funny?

Great sunset, but in my opinion not much landscape.

very cool effect. Very intersting how the clods did that.

I really like the deep rich colours here, very dramatic.

Interesting effect, almost looks like a rocket launch
