I know, I know, it would fit the challenge SO much better if it was a stop sign but they are hardly frequent out in the countryside so this will have to do. Actually this is one of the few times I take a shot I took and fit it to a challenge, normally it´s the other way around, I go out and specifically take a shot for the challenge. I think this is in a gray area as to wether it will fit the challenge or not but I like this shot so I will be prepared for the consequenses if it scores low. Oh well, worst case scenario is that this will be the 4th highest score so far with the 28mm lens :) (at the time I write this there have only been 3 shots submitted with this lens)

As for post processing, I darkened the sign a little bit, removed a pole by the roadside, used curves and after resizing I specifically sharpened just the sky a little bit to bring out the stars and then sharpened again the whole picture.

nice photo. However I'm slowly getting fed up with the "always-in-the-night-green-flare" kind of pictures from Reykjavik.

Great shot Lárus, Aurora Borealis is a magnificent sight! Pity you couldn´t find the correct sign, would have scored a lot higher because this photo is brilliant...glæsilegt!

Amazing colours! I don't like the road sign anyway, maybe because of the yellows. Maybe a no-drive-in sign or end-of-the-street table would fit better. Alltogether, the light of nature is simply stunning.

Not sure that I like the sign, but the rest of the image is good

This is a little tough to stretch to "dead end", unless that sign means as such in Iceland. (it's yield here in the US) I'm not gonna mark you down because of that though. Compared to the last aurora picture (which may even have been your's), this isn't captured as well. They seem more flat in shape from possibly a longer exposure. 6
