Challenge: Self-Portrait Revisited (Classic Editing)
Camera: Canon EOS-10D
Location: Fountain Lake
Date: Jun 17, 2003
Aperture: f8
ISO: 200

This was shot with the self-timer and my 550ex in strobe mode. 10 tries and I chose this one. Good thing to because I could have posted the Full-Monty shot. Of course I had to take one ;-)

I agree, this finished way, way too low. I think this was one of the best efforts in the challenge.

Stick with it!

I assume a long exposure with a flash tripped 3 times? Very nice effect!

Never seen a strobe flash used for this purpose, very imaginative! I particularly like the simplicity, nothing other than the edge of the pier/wall on the left and the splash on the right.

Great shot - very brave - very novel! Would like to have seen it with the block on the left cropped out though. -8

49C !! I feel your chill - looks like you also had to do this a few times to get the shot right too. BRRRR
Would have liked to have seen just one more on the left as you were leaving the pier. Not the best photo on here, but certainly one of the most original and have to applaud you for that

Really creative interpretation! I'd almost like to see the left edge cropped in, so that it's completely without context.

really don't like to see the flag used as clothing - a personal thing perhapsbut... that took down the score I would have otherwise given

Cleverly done! You're looking a little wet on the way down - you obviously had to try this more than once. Good effort!
