Challenge: Transparency II (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Canon EOS-20D
Lens: Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 II
Location: Prospect Park, Brooklyn NYC
Date: Oct 30, 2005
Aperture: 1:11
ISO: 200
Shutter: 1/200

Wanted to use this small classical pavilion as a backdrop for transparency. The large glass/crystal ball with wristwatch attempted to purvey a theme---hope it works. Some cropping, contrast and sharpening used.

Wow! This is the closest I've ever come--quite surprised thanks to everyone with your inspiring comments. I'm learning a great deal about this art thanks to you.

This looks very good and might have deserved a higher score, if not for the only fact that bothers me: the shadow from the watch extending beyond the sphere.

Aside from that, congratulations on a good idea and a great execution.

Common concept but very well executed. The visual impact of the sharp image in the crystal ball is stunning.

Technically very well done, but I don't see transparency, only reflection...

this one reminds me of mine - I hope that people are understanding that it's a clear sphere REFRACTING and not an opaque metallic sphere REFLECTING! this important distinction seems to have escaped the attention of some of those voting on my image... good luck

I reallly like the way that the image through the ball is sharp, although I cannot help wishing that the bottom of the ball were not cut off.

I like this kinda thing... the clarity of the image in the crystal compared to the blurred background is fun.. Crystal clear.. (oh the puns)
