May be too overexposed.

Maybe a lot less glow could work
06/21/2002 01:11:00 PM
Don't really see any shadows here!
06/20/2002 03:49:00 PM
yo buss dis. dis has nuttin to do wif shadows. sheeit!
06/19/2002 08:21:00 AM
whoa! what a saturation! can't see any shadows though ;-)
the picture looks a bit "pixelized" either because of a low resolution or bad jpeg quality.

Nice colors. The very center of the flower should be in focus as well as the petals.

I like your idea to capture the red shadows, but the little white flowers and leafs kinda look out of place. I think you should have either shown more of them or none of them at all.

A beautiful photograph, but the connection to the topic is not as evident as I would have hoped.
06/18/2002 03:17:00 PM
Wow! You must have put the vivid setting to max, I like the bright color. Sorry, I just can't see any 'creative use of shadows' in this photo.

over saturated. doesn't do well for the shadow subject even though there is somewhat of a shadow under each petal.

I can't see where the "shadow" theme fits this. Nice nature shot or still like but not fitting in this theme.
06/18/2002 01:26:00 AM
Nice where is the shadows?
06/17/2002 09:34:00 PM
yikes...Sorry, but this photo is screaming at me.
06/17/2002 08:29:00 PM
Very pretty, though either a bit too soft or slightly out of focus.
06/17/2002 06:05:00 PM
OK I'll bite. Where is the shadow?
06/17/2002 04:19:00 PM
Was the rose really that purple, or is the color from the flash? Also, it doesn't seem quite as sharp as it could be and the shadow isn't really the focus of the photo IMO. Sorry.

Essence of what? The shadows here are weak and don't offer anything to this composition...
06/17/2002 03:46:00 PM
The image appears to be too saturated, and the edge of the flower is cut off unevenly -- I think it would be much more striking a bit toned down, and zoomed out slightly

Overpowering red/pink! So much so, at first, I thought this was out of focus. Shadows, barely work. This might have been a good choice to make black and white, see the other rose shot in this challenge (it's black and white with two roses). See if you don't agree with me.

I'm blinded by the brightness! I like this, some colorful shadows.

Wow way too overexposed/saturated/whatever you did to it
