FROM THE CRITIQUE CLUB

Hello, Jeremy,

First impression: Nice colours. I like the sense of movement to the lanscape. It is off-centre, but it doesn't really meet the challenge "head on".

Light: Seems fine to me, even though I suspect that if you would have taken this picture either earlier or later in the day you'd have even better texture and colours. The hay in particular looks very bright on top, and very dark on the sides.

Focus: OK, but it seems just a little oversharpened?

Composition: I agree with Mariomel below that taking out the hay would make it a stronger image. Nothing is centered in this picture, and yet, the off-center aspect does not come through very strong. The hay is too small and too far to the corner to be a strong center of attention.

Overall: Nice picture, but probably not the best entry to "Off-Center". Keep going!

I think this is a wonderful image, but I find it's link to the challenge a stretch. The hay is far from the subject of attention in this shot. It actually takes away from the image IMO. Take it out, and this images is far better compostitionaly.

to me, the hey is not prominant enough to be the subject of this picture. however, i do like this photo, especailly the colors and the composition

I don't get a real feel for what the subject is, so I'm not sure if it's off centre. otherwise, it's a nice shot. (OK I know the lonely bale is probably it, but this has a lot of strong features in it, which tend to lead away from it. I think a longer lens, with your focuse on the bale would solve it. (BTW, I'm not one who marks a photo down if it doesn't 100% meet the challenge IMO). your blues are a bit strong in the background as well - did you photoshop this?

Is it just me or does it seem to be over-sharpened. Like it otherwise.

Nice unusual shot, good landscape though I'm not sure the main subject holds a lot of interest. Good job anyway and good luck with it.

This looks much too grainy, sharpened, or pixelized, or something. Interesting lines and forms though.
