A play with words obviously :)
Shot at ISO3200, my prev ver was B&W but there wasn't enough noise. Had to raise the contrast and add sharpening to get an acceptable level of noise which meant losing the soft image I was trying for.

returning for comments. This is a nicely lighted studio shot, I like this as a good and clean portrait, but this doesn't looks like its being helped with grain and doesn't really fit into the description where grain should be an integral part of the image
This is a nice photo. And it leaves me wondering whether or not the grain really enhanced the image. To me, grain works best in photos that are dark, contrasty or moody, or to provide an "aged" look. This seems to me like a good image that had grain added to it for a contest, rather than an image that was enhanced by the use of grain. Keep shooting! :)
This is a nice portrait. But I'm not sure that grain was what it needed. It spoils it for me. Those beautiful clear eyes want a super sharp image I think. Wrong challenge for a really great image.
I don't think the grain enhanced the image but rather detracted from it. This is an awesome shot and a beautiful little subject. I would love to see it without the grain.
Darling portrait, not one, however, where I think grain is adding anything. I'm thinking grain adds a feeling of moodiness, melancholy, nostalgia or antiquity. This little pixie isn't giving me any of that (and she shouldn't). I do see grain there, but I'm also looking for serious grain for my top scores. I'll give you a neutral 5 which winds up not helping or hurting you much. Takeaway: she's a cutie.
I can see the subtle grain, but I don't think this is the right portrait for using it. Why would you want to rough up or dirty such a happy, angelic face? I'd like to see this without the grain effect and cropped a bit tighter.
I really want to give this an unbelievable score, but in the spirit of the challenge.... WHERE IS THE GRAIN???? She is adorable and the capture is spot on, but it isn't creatively using grain to enhance the photo. But, God - that's a cute kid.
