Camera: Canon EOS-10D

Straight out of the camera, no cropping. Increased saturation, brightness and contrast slightly. Sharped after resizing. That's it... that's exactly the way it was framed in camera.
Took it whilst shooting Motocross this weekend.

HOw can there be 2 shots like this in the same challenge? Imagine the surprise. Anyway, i see that you left some person and ground at the bottom of the shot to give perspective, but IMO there is too little to be effective. I would rather have seen it with just the blue sky, it would have given the impression that he was flying. Still a great shot.

Crop 2 mm from the bottom to get the head out of there. Everything else is superb. 9

Well done. Good example of the challenge. It may have been better without the head peaking into the bottom of the frame? 8 Morgan

That must have taken a bit of timing or work to get. The bit of someone's head (I think it is) near the bottom is distracting. (It also seems to give lie to the angle chosen for the photograph, making it a bit less dramatic to my eyes, at least.)

ks that somneone's head on the bottom, perhaps you should have cropped the bottom some some,

DUDE.......

Good capture and i guess you`ve been told a hundred times already to crop the head out.

great catch! I think the little head on the bottom could have been cropped out, and still left the subject off center.

hmm, now i am sure that you knew there was a bit of dirt and persons partial head at bottom, and certainly proves to show the angle of the bike bit more. Great capture, very clear and focused still for a moving object.

great action shot but would have been better without part of someone's heat I would have cropped that out 6

Pretty good stop action on this obviously fast moving subject. However, someone poked his head into this shot, which detracts from the picture. I can see that you wanted to use the dirt hill as a reference point, but the half cropped face is really distracting.

Why didn't you crop out the half head at the bottom? It detracts massively from the picture.

Nice shot however I wish you would have included more of the ground to compliment the high jump.6

Good use of negative space. I don't like the head at the bottom. The ground is okay for some distance perspective. Good shot.

Great job to leave in the tiny bit of ground at the bottom since that gives the shot good perspective. 8.

Amazing... That bit at the bottom is distracting though.

Nice stop motion. I think it could have done with just a bit more ground in the shot, to balance the picture. 7

It's good that little wisp of a cloud is out there... it helps move the viewer's eye down to the bottom for voting. The partial head at the bottom seems a bit out of place, but otherwise not bad.

The top of the person's head at the bottom kind of ruins this photo for me, because I can tell it's been tilted (the cloud also gives it away). With the head cropped out, I think this would be a pretty good shot!

Nice capture. Good angle of attack on the shot, but you definately shoulda cropped the bottom inch of the shot.

not enough ground showing, either none or more would be my preference, however I think the capture of motion is fantastic

This would have made a great entry for the magazine cover! Great action shot. I probably would have cropped out the person's head at the bottom or included more of them. Having just the top of their head looks a little off, but otherwise, I like it.

Wow! Great shot! I would have cropped out the ground (and head) entirely, though.

Well, I think you are going to beat my motorcycle photo :-P I like that you've left in that little corner of soil to kind of anchor your shot, but would've probably cropped even more from the bottom to get the partial head out. Am envious of your blue sky (we had clouds all day) but your clouds give away that you did some major rotating here ... but it works reall well for the motorbike. Cool shot :)

o.k. I just have to ask the question...why did you leave inthe kids head? i'm thinking you wanted a drop of land for perspective, but it will get lower scores because of the half of a head.
Excellent focus, colors and stopped motion on this.

Nice shot, good sports grab. I would have preferred it with either more of the ground in frame, or none at all... though I don't know what effect this would have on the over-all postition. Good luck.

Not off center enough for me and I would have cropped the bottom off.
06/16/2003 05:12:02 AM
hey. another one. i like the idea of showing the height by having the person at the bottom, but i would either show more of them or crop them out.

Excellent moving shot. Clarity, composition and colour are just awesome, however I personally would have cropped out the head and patch of grass at the bottom. Overall a brilliant image though.

Nice capture. The head at the bottom is a bit distracting, and you might've messed with the contrast a bit to make the rider stand out against his/her background.
