The lighting and the off center composition give a feeling of loneliness and mystery to the figure on the bench. There are from distracting elements - the garbage can, the bits of something highlighted in the darkness beyond the figure. I might even crop from the sides and top (even crop out the light) to tighten the focus thematically. |

Nice setting. A shorter exposure would have given a more itimate result with less loudness in the lights. |

too bad we're not allowed to burn/dodge. lowering th contrast would flatten it out too much, but the light and the woman end up a bit hot for me. beautiful composition and staging. 7 |

Nice but I think the bin fights for the attention from the subject - 8 |

This has so much emotion. I really like your choice of black and white. I'm a little distracted by the big garbage can in the middle, takes away from the mood a bit. 8 |

This thumbnail captured my attention and, although I'm not allowed to vote, I just had to let you know how wonderful I think it is. The light is almost as much of a focal point as your subject on the park bench. Lighting up that whole side of the picture while leaving the left cast in shadow really emphasizes the theme of the challenge. My only regret is I do wish the trash weren't there. It can detracts just a little bit. But that's a very minor issue. If I were voting, this would surely be a 9 or 10 for me. |

I can almost hear creepy music, as though she's the subject of a film and a creature is about to pop out of the woods :) Nice crisp B&W here... well done! |

Did you set this shot up or catch it? This is great. It seems slightly out of focus, but it works anyway. Perhaps the focus was intentionally a little off. Only thing that could make it better would be no trashcan, but I agree that you needed to leave the extra space in on the left. 9. |

The light cast by this lamplight appears too white, almost alien. Generally a night scene is communicated better with more muted lighting - this is harsh. |
