My mum has an original one of these, they are indestructable. The photo is actually of the modern retro styled version, didn't have a chance to get to Mum's place. The heading is from Sunbeam's ads, they used this slogan from the 1920s to the 1960s as far as I can tell !

Editing : Used Picasa 2 to convert to Sepia and add film grain, couldn't quite get the effect I wanted in photoshop. Used photoshop to burn the background and dodge the chrome front.

Tried some pics at ISO 3200 but the noise wasn't visible after resizing to 640 pixels, so got out the tripod and shot at ISO 200 instead

Not a good choice for an angle shot. It looks as if the bowl is going to fall off.

Wow - that's some title. It made me think of 1950's or 1960's advertising. I like the sepia tone as it fits your title. Nice composition as well. With a bit more "breathing room" on the left hand side of the mixer head, I would have scored it even higher. Looks a bit...squished to me, for lack of a better technical term. :) 8

Maybe a little too dark? Also thought the subject wasn't all that interesting, though you did place a lot of grain in the image. Good choice to make the image brown toned.

Very interesting choice for a grain subject, but why the hell not? :-D
Your grain on the image looks a lot better than most I've seen

Wow! If you can believe it, I think I had the model that was even EARLIER than this! And a Sunbeam too!! Nice vintage look to this vintage subject.

Hilarious, we just used this very same beater at my parent's house to make a cake (especially if it's yellow). I like the composition to fit the tight crop. The noise is definitely there and I'm guessing you are going for an "old" feel. The subject isn't going to reach those emotional highs, but a good attempt. 7
