The weather didn't cooperate this week for taking a nice, normal landscape for the wide angle challenge. I was taking my kayak out on a local rain-swollen river to try to get some nice wide angles shots with the bow of the boat in it, but the scenery was not that interesting and the lighting was a little harsh. So I decided to try something different. I taped my tripod into my kayak while it was on the roof of my car. Then I used my remote shutter release to snap some long exposures while I drove through the woods by the river.

This shot was taken at 12mm.

Post processing: levels, contrast, curves, color, saturation, resize and USM.

I like it. It is just like I am on that Kayak on a full speed. Great effect.

Very Clever and well done. I can actually "feel" the motion. Not sure that this was the right challenge for this pic.

Nice speed effect, but I don't get the connection between the boat (is it a boat?) and it rushing into the woods. The colours are catching, but the sky is blown out missing the nice blue so much needed to balance the sharp yellows.

Great shot. This gives a real sense of speed. Looks like you are about to crash into the trees up ahead. Nice smooth blur. Well done.

I just love this one, it's palpably exhilirating. I'm assuming you were sitting in a kayak on top of a car? Or the camera was mounted there anyway... The pure symmetry of the tiedowns is a grace note that strikes me. And of course the image is TOTALLY centered, symmetrical, which is a no-no in DPC terms so yoi get poitns for me just 'cuz you made it work.
