Stunning image, a well deserved win. Your composition on this is outstanding. This definately meets the challenge. The seapia tones work well for this gives it that aged fill. Your lighting on this makes it interesting. Wonderful dof and the focus is perfect for the image.

Very little I would change the only thing I see that might improve slightly is the glare on the desk edge from the light, and even that really isn't all that much.

Very nicely done, congrats on the ribbon.

Very well thought out and setup. Reminds me of something straight out of an old war movie or something. Well derserved win. :)

Good job Indi! This reminded me of one of my grandfather's photos and it got a very good score from me. Thanks for bringing up that memory!

Congrats - wonder who the crazy 1 was. In better news, you weren't that 1 being a 9 away from catching Bob. :) Good job! (Adding to favorites)

Congratulations on this nice "time freeze", well lit and framed. At the "what does not fit" game, here is my contribution: my mother always told me never to cut paper with the hair scissors "...it will dull them".

Only saw the thumbs of this challenge and never voted. Very happy you got a ribbon; you deserved one! This is a beautiful picture with gorgeous lighting. It is also very original and well-conceived. Like the nostalgic feel of the toning. Great job and congrats!

Oops. Didn't have time to put in any comments before the challenge so here they are:
I don't work at an office or even have a home office so this challenge wasn't an easy one. I happened to be cleaning the attic that week and started running into all these antique office tools which gave me the idea to put them all together.
The "desk" is the vanity from a bedroom suite purchased by my grandparents just before he went to the war. He served on a destroyer in the Pacific, and my grandmother saved the paper. The picture is of her brother who also served in WWII.
The tape dispenser came from my grandfather's desk and is very old although I'm not sure how old. Apparently transparent tape came into use in the 30s. The lamp and phone are two old garage sale finds that both work, and the fan is a reproduction of a 1940s fan.
It's kind of like a "where's waldo" picture I guess in that everyone wanted to find something that doesn't fit. I'm just glad to see people spent that much time looking at it!

Very nice vintage photograph! i love your lighting and stil life set up. Really great photography here! I'm not sure they'd be using hair cutting scissors, though....LOL. Although I'VE used them plenty often when another pair couldn't be found! Again, really nice sense of balance and focus. I know right where to look and there is plenty to keep my interest here. 10

You know, this is an amazing photo and the old-fashioned items are just keen, but I'm not entirely sure it would be my first choice for 'office'. I don't say it's OFF topic -- I was one of the people who noted a home office would count, and this sort of is -- but it's just not what I'd have thought of.

I mean, this is an amazing photo, I'm just wondering why you chose to do it for THIS challenge.

I love the lighting, the tone on it, it could come straight from a Film Noir pic even though it's got a more hopeful feel to it than that.

The only thing that looks even vaguely out of place is the fan -- was that style of fan really around in the 40s?

I like this so much. Very emotive and sentimental. The lighting is excellent as is your attention to detail. Great job, I hope you do well!

The fitted (?) and rounded desk topis not credible! ;-)

Wonderful time capsule you have created here. Technically, all seems appropiate to me, including the softer focus.

Very nice! I like the set-up here. The duotone is effective and looks vintage. I like the single light source from the lamp. Very much meets challenge and hope you get a good result. 10
