This was shot at a creek nearby. There was some work being done, so the water was really churned up and muddy. I worked with color saturation until I got this effect. I thought it was much more interesting than a green leaf! Once I could see it in detail, I liked the bugs and the shadows of the overhead tree branches, already barren of leaves.

Crop, sat red, magenta, desat green, yellow; adjust hue, add frame, save for web.

I really like this and think it should have scored much higher. The colors are complimentary and certainly an unusual choice combination, but one that works well.

Judy-I believe you got nailed on the border. I'm a huge, huge border fan and I also like exotic borders as well but this one didn't work for me. I like it when borders compliment or even offset certain elements in an image and this one looks like an extension of what's inside the image...maybe too much tonal sameness...if that makes sense???

Maybe Black-"Pink/Purple"-Black? Very thin band of the pinkish-purple?

I thought this was a lovely image of complimentary colors. Should have scored way higher!

I love the border you used here. Very complimentary to the photo.

To me, it looks like this was almost...."forced" into complementary colors using a photo-editing program. The look itself isn't bad, but compared to other entries in the challenge, doesn't meet my concept of comlimentary colors.

Interesting picture. Its a bit flat though. Love the branches and mosquitoes in the water, nice touch.

I like the comp, but it lacks impact. It may be too soft. It doesn't really pop. Olive and magenta - interesting take on complementary colors.

beautifull!

love the color rime and the fact that the tree (that the leave has droped from) shadows in the water. The border looks good too, even though I find that borders are often a climat ruiner of a photo :)

grade: 8!
