I thought it was witty, but too much distraction. I guess I'm a minimalist. I gave it a 4. It should've been a 5, but I probably misclicked (sometimes the number jump around when voting).

You'll have to view my voting habbits which seem to be a little off since I rarely find my top votes making top scores.

I didnt vote in the challenge either but I would definenantly scored it higher then 3 just for the creativity factor alone, the only thing letting it down IMO is i would like to see more background blur. I find the coffee perculator a bit distracting.

BTW I can spell, congrats on the shot and sorry about the score

I really liked this image and believe it should have done better.

Didn't vote on this challenge, but I've got to say...that's Darned Clever! The "not in a coffee shop" probably hurt you, but with that creativity you might get another "shot" at this technique in a future challenge. Good Job.

The subject's expression is very interesting. Would have been a 10 if it had been a coffee shop instead of a kitchen.

I'm curious to know how you did the skull & crossbones effect, but somehow the image looks too staged to effectively tell the intended story. The model's lack of strong expression would be fine if she weren't making eye contact with the camera, but a stronger look is required from someone caught poisoning someone's coffee.

The bright white of the coffee cup and the edge of the counter top draw unnecessary attention to them. Using a brighter light from farther away or softening up the light that fell on those objects would have helped to reduce this distraction. I would have liked the border better if it were darker (closer to a forest green).

that's a good trick. anxious to see how you did this. the shadows give a nice dark mood for the story here. good job.

I hope I would NOT find poison in a coffee house.

Ok cool photo but, and there is always a but, the skull and crossbones/smoke is too directly in the middle of the photo for me and the shadow of the woman is distracting. Maybe croping out the shadow could kill two birds with one stone. Of course this is just a non-professionals opinion. 6

Not liking this one very much. The expression on the model is not attractive, and I must be stupid but am not sure the significance to the composition of the skull and crossbones. The focus is excellent, though, and the colors and lighting are very good.
