it's probably because anyone who has been associated with this site for a long time thinks this genre of shot is a very "tired" subject

I thought it was fantastic. The drops hold the colours, more the further away. You have captured it very well, congrats.

This is fantastic. It's stands head and shoulders above the other water droplet shots b/c of the reflection in the droplets. I love it! Congrats on your blue ribbon.

Ah, yes... Another water shot...

I am very much a beginner, and I've been dying to try this. After trying it though I have a new appreciation for these water shots. They are a lot harder than I thought. Very difficult to focus on the drop.

I did not expect to win at all, not even close, especially given the subject. But I am glad I tried it, I learned a lot.

Thank you for the positive comments, and I am very excited. Sorry to bore everyone with yet another water drop :)

Great picture. Simple and at the same time very interesting Really like the way the last drop reflect the colored squares.

Nice bold and vibrant reds and greens and an interesting checker pattern going on. Also there is the action of a suspended water drop and the ripples radiating out. Techniqcally good but the overall interest of the composition lacks something that I cannot put a finger on what would spruce up the elements contained within the frame. Hmmm, one thing I can think of at the moment to suggest is that if you could have just shifted the captured the water drop and ripples radiating out a tad to the right and up it would have appeared that they were spot on the center of where those 2 green and 2 red squares meet.

oh, yeah, this is a shot we see a lot on this site. it still doesn't get old. very nice job catching the checkerboard in the top droplet. i like the capture despite seeing it before. nice job.

Neat twist on a much used cpc classic. Over all, a nice picture, but unfortunatly, I've seen too man water drop pictures...that's not to say I won't do one eventually too! Nice shot.
