Challenge: Your Corner of the World II (Advanced Editing IV)
Camera: Canon EOS-300D Rebel
Lens: Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
Location: Golf Course
Date: Sep 28, 2005
Aperture: f/6.3
ISO: 100
Shutter: 30 seconds
Galleries: Emotive, Landscape
Date Uploaded: Sep 28, 2005

This lighning storm came right after sunset and as soon as I saw it I ran as fast as I could to "my" golf course with an umbrella. It became dark really fast so I set the shutter speed to 30 seconds and ISO to 100 to prevent a lot of noise. I clicked the shutter and ran in front with my umbrella and tried to stand still (strong winds), took a few shots and returned home to hoping I got something. I was extrememly surprised to see this beautiful yellow light (im guessing from the sunset) and the over all outcome.

*post*

It seems many thought i processed this image too much but in reality I did not, a little brightness contrast some noise reduction and thats about it ;). I was hoping for a bit higher score, but thanks everyone for a top 20 finish! ;).

I thought this would have done better also. An awesome shot but after reading how you did it, it made it even better. Congrats on a nice finish anyway.

This is pretty spectacular. I am curious about how much editting took place. Lovely image, not sure if I'd be standing there with an umbrella if lightning was in the air!

From experience, I would think you will get a lot of admirers and a few detractors for the "painterly" style of this image. The technique certainly divides voters.
I love it, the variety&gradation of colours in the sky is quite breathtaking.

Looks over-saturated. There are strange colour-fringing effects as well. Gives an 'over-processed' feel... not sure if this is what you intended!

Good use of color! I like the shot. Did you a blur or noise reduction in the sky?

Pretty awesome on color contrast! Would make a great wall poster as it's better viewed from a certain distance than up close. Can't help bumping it up. Each time it draws me to have a second look.

Stunning capture. Talk about great timing! The only reservation I have about this shot is the extreme yellow tones.

Very dramatic. I have to know was the yellow there or did you put it there. If it was then how is the cloud yellow. 8

Very dangerous! I don't like the color choice but I'll give you an 8 for the nerve of the model.
