Taken late afternoon/early evening of a tunnel in Buchanan, VA. Railroad tracks are above the road and still frequented by freight trains.

Wasn't sure how I wanted to edit this one - as it is a very common site in town and beautiful in its own way, but not especially noteworthy. So, I went for a grungy approach and think it worked out very well. I'm very pleased with it. I've been taking shots of this tunnel for 9 months and up until now have not been pleased with the end result.

PP included (mostly) layers of the following:
crop
straighten horizontal
change hue
blending brush
cloning brush
Neat Image
color sat
Mr. Contrast plug-in filter
Melancholytron plug-in fliter
burning/dodging brush
tinting brush (green)

I was thrilled when I saw this! The shadows amongst the subtle colors are so, so beautiful!

I love the almost postcard feel to this shot. The hint of color on the other side of the tunnel really makes me want to go through to see what is on the other side. Really like the effect you used to get the "texture".

Almost looks exactly like a shot out of a new computer gaming ad. Top notch graphics computer game that is! Its got that feel to it.

The texture of the rocks and vines define this - the colour while understated is good, the contrast of the dark in the tunnel and the brightest part of the scene lead the eye in. Looks authentic, old-fashioned. Good one.

Cool image. The tone suits it well. I like the angle you've used, it makes the viewer want to lean over and look out and see what is through the tunnel.

I do like the picture, however my mind keeps wondering what is just to the bottom left of this. The eye is kind of lead in both left bottom corner and to the left top corner. I would have put this whole composition slightly higher in the shot and included more road in front of the tunnel, just so that the shot leeds in one direction.

Carter I would really appreciate if you could share how you achieved the surreal effect in this image. It compliments the image very nicely and I would really like to try this. It really makes this image look like a renissance piece.

This one is my favourite of the three. Looks like something out of the Doom video game. One thing I would try is blurring the other side of the tunnel some more, to increase the mystique of the imagery.
