Very nicely framed, I love the angle.

Think I would like to have seen a portrait view to get mote perspective of the road.

great idea!

I have a pair of Route 66 jeans: idea - somehow combine the two?
06/14/2002 03:53:00 PM
not really enough contrast.

Hmm... I'm not an American. I've heard of route 66, but I'm not sure what's significant about it, so to me this is just a picture of some cracked asphalt.

Are you getting your kicks?

The subject matter here is great, but that curb over on the side kind of detracts. Did you consider a horizontal format that would either include just the road and "sign" (and cut out the curb) or one that showed more of the road going off into the distance (and would include curb, sky, cars, whatever)? Since this is so monochromatic anyway, you might also want to consider making it B&W -- or at least tweaking the levels. :-)

High marks for nostalgia.

Uhhhhhng... Damn that road gets hot in the middle of summer. I rode it on my motorcycle a few years back...

great shot, a very unique idea. I would have liked it better if the top right corner was cropped away.

Wow, you hit the nail with the hammer here! (where's the road kill carcass?) Too bad you couldn't have had a classic 'vette tail end just past the road sign.
Photo 8 Creativity 7 Road 10 total 9 (I like the cracks in the road, but didn't need the off road part, crop closer next time, just a suggestion)

How does this look in B&W?
06/10/2002 05:26:00 PM
Did you experiment with other angles, or placing the subject in other parts of the picture? That would have also been interesting, I think, though potentially dangerous if cars were coming. :-)

I will ride this road one day :) In this particular photo, I think *I* would have gotten a little closer to the marker or cropped it a little tighter to remove the curb from the right side of the frame.... good job!
