Thanks everyone for the comments!! This is the first image that I have done that has received so many remarks.

For those of you who asked, this is a simple zoom blur taken of a tree with the sun directly behind the trunk.

A zoom blur is easily done with a good tripod and any zoom lens - simply lock the camera down tight, choose a good aperture and a fairly slow shutter - in this case 1/25th of a second. While you release the shutter with one hand, your free hand takes hold of the zoom ring on the lens and rotates in or out while the shutter is open. The length of the lens and the amount of twist you give the zoom ring will determine how long the blurred lines are. Pretty simple, eh? Its a cool effect and since it is all done in camera, it tends to add a unique approach to some shots.

Thanks again for all of the comments - I do appreciate everyone's feedback!

Im assuming thisis a time exposure with a zoom lens. I must admit I am very dissapointed with the creativity in this challenge. So many trees. But I do like this image its a stound out 6. Its still a tree.

Very cool. Nice zoom effect. To bad you had to go through the verification. The one down side to dgital photography is that nobody believes the in-camera effects anymore. I experience this on my very first challenge. Overall, a very good photo and unique in presentation.

A spectacular nightmarish effect. I love the trick of moving the lens during a long exposure like that. I think you could have chosen a better title however that reflects the nature of the shot, like hallucinations or something.
