Only minor editing to this photo....just played around with the colour.

Greetings from the critique Club!!
The composition of the portrait is lovely. The idea that her expression and placement convey is very interesting for the viewer. The editing in the hair makes it almost appear like lines of tiny dots. It is an interesting effect, one that the voters at DPC will either love or hate. The focus seems to be on her hair, taking away from her face. There is a lot of noise and pixilation in her face and the background, while it can be acceptable in the background, on her face it looks like a lot of green and brown spots. It looks like a small picture blown up very big. Fits the challenge perfectly. Overall, a nice portrait that encountered some promlems in post-processing.
Nice work and keep shooting!

sorry but what I'm thinking is the editing is really hurting this shot
09/18/2005 08:32:00 PM
holy pixelation batman!
um, yeah...I think it's just a liiiiiittle bit over-sharpened.
09/17/2005 04:56:49 PM
Way too much sharpening of what seems like an otherwise lovely casual portrait
09/17/2005 10:21:08 AM
This is grainy, overexposed and not clear at all. She has lovely hair and features and in the right light and with clear focus, this would really work.
09/17/2005 07:09:45 AM
way too much sharpening
09/16/2005 06:09:11 PM
This would be a great foto, but it is just very pixelated.
09/16/2005 04:02:02 PM
a little over-effected. forgive me if that was you intention.
09/15/2005 11:17:33 PM
I like the angle and how she is looking down. The title gives clues to what she's doing. I'm not sure if you were trying to pull off an over processed look on purpose, but it doesn't work for me.

Extremely oversharpened...?
09/15/2005 01:04:42 PM
..Unless this is intentional.. seems a bit over-processed. the picture looks to have a great deal of potential, but way too grainy and pixelated. I onder if it's a compression issue? I'm still learning myself, so if I'm way off-base just disregard.

alot of jpeg artifacting going on here
09/14/2005 08:01:07 PM
I am so sorry, but I don't like whatever you did to this picture. She is so pretty and you can't really see her beauty for the noise in it.
09/14/2005 07:17:21 PM
interesting technique
09/14/2005 12:41:07 PM
This appears to be very over processed.
09/13/2005 11:50:20 PM
Unfortunately this comes across as very pixelated on my screen and overly sharpened. Too bad as she has a nice smile and expression.
09/13/2005 10:54:54 PM
Wow this is different, I love the hair it really grabs your into the photo.
09/13/2005 09:33:34 PM
Whoaa....3...
09/13/2005 09:30:02 PM
not a good effect.. looks like it was run through a thousand filters
09/13/2005 04:49:17 PM
No posterization, crop just the 3/4 on the right and it's a great shot!
09/13/2005 03:32:05 PM
Way too grainy
09/13/2005 12:14:40 PM
Too overprocessed.
09/13/2005 11:41:16 AM
Over sharpened perhaps? Does change the appearance of the hair.
09/13/2005 01:29:20 AM
bit too far with the USM or way too much hairspray.
09/12/2005 11:48:26 PM
It looks way oversharpened.
09/12/2005 11:35:52 PM
I have no idea what you did to this picture.. but whatever it was.. it was too much!
09/12/2005 10:08:14 PM
I'm not really sure what I'm seeing ... oversharpening, filter effects, or enlarged beyond the available data.
09/12/2005 09:02:00 PM
Way too over sharpened for my liking. It is a pity because I really think this could have been a lovely natural shot. I would recommend redoing it without so much sharpening as this photo would definately be a keeper.
09/12/2005 08:34:52 PM
Wow... something really nasty happened to the quality here. This would have been a decent shot had it not been so pixelized and odd-looking.
09/12/2005 03:04:31 PM
Is this taken with a camera phone or was it deliberately manipulated to be pixelated so much?
09/12/2005 01:27:09 PM
The quality of the photo is really poor, but your composition is good.
09/12/2005 11:19:15 AM
Although I can't say I'm too fond of it, I appreciate your PP and artisitc creativity and courage with this one. The hair is quite cool though :-)
09/12/2005 08:35:26 AM
This image is so noisy, it hurts my ears. The compression artifacting is unattractive as well. You may optimize your filesize up to 150kb, try to preserve the quality and integrity of the original photo.
09/12/2005 03:47:24 AM
Way oversharpened, pity for such an attractive model..
09/12/2005 12:57:01 AM
WOW way way too much sharpening and processing. I would like to see this shot in a more natural state.
09/12/2005 12:50:24 AM
Whew, I think way too much USM. Makes her hair look like it's steel strands.
