Alrigh, just got disqualified for my NUDE 3 entry for "cloning and removing a major element in the photograph".
Thought might as well post the orignial shot so you know what not to do.

The irony is, all the other outtakes I posted and thought about submitting did not have the studio strobe and softbox in the background. Just goes to show, I should have listened to Kosmikkreeper and not have submitted this one. Might have scored better, and would not have been disqualified.

Funny thing that a softbox would be considered a major element in the photo. I won't argue with the fact that it is clearly in the shot. Never the less, this is a studio shot, meant to be shot on white background. So what if we remove the strobe? This is a removable object anyway; it's not as if I shot a nude in the wild and removed a tree. The main subject is still unmodified.

Anyways.

There you have it, the original shot.

cheers.

Martin

I like it with the lighting elements in their. its very "documentary" feeling. Oh yeah, and the liquid skin tones are brilliant.

what softbox?

WOW .. !!!!

Bloody hell, that softbox certainly is a major element. Sure it's not the same as removing a tree from a forest, but visually it's certainly a very dominant element in the composition. You can't expect the SC to distinguish semantically between a tree in a forest and a strobe in a studio, then you have to start asking where you draw the line. Brilliant shot as always though, you just got cocky with the cloning :)

I still like this photo even with the softbox there! Awesome model! Bad luck mate!

I agree with you 100%. You can't always depend on the powers that be to understand why that strobe is not a major element.

rules are rules, and the entered photo could have been acheived with out the significant cloning...
