Sorry. I don't get it. Subject placing is good. Honestly an all out boring shot.

Just not very interesting

Ummm, no, sorry!

Props for creativity and thinking outside the box - even for an interesting composition/crop. Unfortunately, the subject matter doesn't really appeal to me personally. Still, technically a good shot and entry.

Eh...don't really like the darkened corners. And the ac doesn't interest me.

While I I do like the effect of the lines on the vent and the corners cut off the photo (I assume it was intentional) they do not create enough abstract interest to overcome an otherwise un-interesting subject.

maybe the vent should have been a little more centered

What an odd entry!

This image has distracting vignetting at each corner. The color is rather unappealing for the subject. And the subject...well, I guess I'll have to wait for your "notes' after the challenge to find out why you chose to photograph this. If it was meant as humor, it was lost on me.

Not the most suitable subject you could have chosen. Seems dirty and yellowing plastic, and it may be some dirt cleaned away or a sloppy paint job but the stripe on the left looks untidy. The burn bleeding onto the corners is annoying too.

It's not a branch.

clever idea

Ok I am not sure what you were trying to capture here, but it seems very little to do with effort. It matches no part of the challenge, no color, no shadow, no interesting subject matter and it feels dirty. I don't mean to be over-critical, it just didn't translate into a good photo. Whatever it is you were trying to capture.

Maybe this is just me, but this is just to far off the subject of branch. But the photo taken by it's self is okay, plain and smiple but nicely done. Question, are the edges burned?
09/07/2005 04:38:02 PM
a stretch of the subject to me.

unique. Needs something more to make it interesting for me. in focus - POV okay - DOF works.

Something differenct, and I appreciate that in a day full of wooden branches..thank you. I would have liked to seen the vent in full view (not necessarily centered), but all there. Maybe some changes to the highlights and midtones, would have been a little easier on the eyes. Nice job.

Out of the box and creative. It does lack some appeal (most people wouldn't hang this pic on their wall)

Nice try being different, feels just a bit too distant
