The focus is a little off; the lines cutting through the mirror have the sharpest focus. This shot could benefit from increasing the contrast. Since there aren't any strong textures here I think that the color version of this shot may have had more impact. The shot is well framed, and I like the tattoos.

Using the mirror adds interest. I think this would be better if you had some better lighting (kind of flat as is). Also, not so tight a crop on the top.

I really like the strange tight crop you have done here. Looks like a still from a movie for some reason I can't explain.

Great concept. Background is a bit distracting and focus should, IMO, be on the eyes, even in reflection. You also might try cropping a bit off the bottom. Nice job though.

Is this your first time taking a nude photo, or first time posing in a nude photo, or both? Either way, I like the idea behind this, but I feel that the focus is off. I hope it does ok in the challenge. Good luck.

out of focus, needs more contrast.. just a bit busy.

I like the dual image. I'd like to see the color version. I think it might bring out the tattoos a bit better.

This has a camera-phone feel to it. The image is grainy & dull. The fan(?) she is covering herself with is distracting. I'd crop the bottom of the shot just above that item. Might be nice to see just a bit more of her face, also.

good pose and concept, and nice composition. critical sharpness is lacking. take this picture again and make it crisp and it would be a whole different story. I'd love to see texture in the hair and detail on the ink.

a more sharp pic would have been a winner.

I like the feeling portrayed in this picture.
Sort of, should I orr shouldn't I enter it.
Maybe a little soft, but a very well composed image.

good job for a first. It has a mood to it and the model is lovely. To me, it looks like there were some problems with the post processing, mainly on the arms, and there could be a little more contrast.

Beautiful and nicely decorated body, but the photo doesn't capture it well. The expression is much too serious. Congrats on bravery (assuming photog / model are the same). Good luck to you!

IMHO this pic lacks contrast, the lines in the mirror are distracting, focus is soft and it looks as if it has been over sharpened.5

I think the mirror hurts this shot by confusing the image slightly. In fact, the more I look at it, the more I'm wondering if it is a mirror. :) I can see some fragments of some cloning out the background, and it seems a bit oversharpened, bringing down the image even further. Great model and composition, and if you have some outakes with that full back tattoo, be sure to show them after the challenge is over.

I have found that shots in mirrors are so hard. The quality of the mirror is never as sharp as you wish. Looks like your picture suffers from the exact same problem. The idea is nice though.

I like the use of the mirror, an excellent idea. I think a little extra crispness on the back and arm and a little less on the reflection might add to the image. All in all, a good first nude.

cool idea and well composed, except for the fan, don't know how you would work around that without cropping too much out

I belive this image would have benifited from there being more light in the room. Although the light on the model is even, there doesnt seem to be quit enough of it to define the etails.

I like the overall feeling of apprehension and think it ties in great with the title however the focus seems a bit soft. There seems to be some heavy spot editing around the arm and the wallpaper border detracts from the image. Kudos for taking this.

I'm more intreeged by the tattoos. I'd have preferred to feature them more with the contours of the body.

I feel the shot could have been better technically - for example lighting, contrast, tones, detail, focus etc.
08/22/2005 01:26:54 AM
Great composition! Just wish the tattoo were sharper and more contrasty.

I really like the tatoos on her back. I think the inclusion of the eyes in the composition really adds interest and impact. If the model would permit, I think that including a little more of her (I can't find a proper sounding way to say this) butt crack would help balance out the shot since there is a lot of weight in the top left.

if it had been taken from another angle where the fan would not have been needed this would be great. The fan is distracting. Good image anyway.
