 A quickie edit, starting from:

I ran shadow/highlight, boosting shadows 30/50/200, midtone contrast +20, then ran selective color, went to white, set black to -10 to bring out the white in the clouds, then set cyan and magenta to +3 to give the white part of the clouds a very slight bluish cast, then went back to shadow/highlight again, boosting the highlights by 5/50/200, boosting midtone contrast by +10 again. I finished up with a Smart Sharpen (gaussian) 50%, 0.3 pixels.

Uh, I should be absolutely clear: this isn't a shot I took, merely one I re-edited for someone else as an example.

WOW... Very powerful image. Great shot - love the deep tones and desolation the shot evokes. Nice job.
