Right before this challenge was announced, it had rained for 24 hours. Not until the last day of the challenge did a shower finally come through so I grabbed my camera and ran for the backyard to find something to photograph. The Hibiscus bush in our yard is great after a shower since the rain drops hold on to the petals so well.

Yet another of your images that was severely overlooked. I think this shot has all the elements necessary for a truly enjoyable viewer experience. There's no way this should have scored a 5.2 - it should have been 6.0 minimum. (Again, just my opinion, but damn! What were these people looking for?!?)

You managed to not overblow the whites in this shot (which would be extremely easy to do - Every single shot of magnolia blossoms that I have taken are completely blown out). You captured rain beautifully, and presented it in an environment of extremely rich, deep color and good focus. I don't understand the voters sometimes. BUT, sometimes they do make mistakes (at least I like to think they do!). :-) They certainly did here!

EDIT: So okay, they're not magnolias... You get my point! ROFL

I would have preferred a tighter shot and a landscape image rather than portrait for this image. I love the contrast between the greens and the stark white image of the flower.6

This is a lovely photo - but its a bit dark. Also might have been better with a flower that hadn't been eaten :)

Another wet flower shot. Not much interest for me.

I like the tonality here, and your control of exposure, which is impeccable. I think you've lost a little of the sense of finest detail, probably from the smallness of the file size of the image, whihc has also lead to those blurry lines about high-contrast edges. I'm not convinced about the composition overall either: its quite simplistic, and i think something stronger would make more immediate impact - especially in a challenge here there are doubtless many many flower photographs. But there remains a lot to like here.

Nice photo, maybe crop it to include just one of the hibiscus.

nice clear bright flowers, but if you were to crop a little tighter, it would get rid of some of the "unwanted" background.

Lovely deep green against the white.
