IMHO the whites are blown way out, the angle is strange and the focus is poor. 5

For me, I found this photo a bit too bright and had you actually captured him playing live music, I would have scored it higher.

This is nice, with a perfect title for the feel you've created. Amid all the joy-less comments you'll be getting about blown highlights, I'd like to say that I think your decision to expose & process the photograph this way is very clever. It establishes the relationship between the sax and the man's rapt expression as the visual hinge on which your image swings. So the peripheral margins aren't blown at all; they're just unimportant, to the man as well as to us. Bravo. 9

this photo is like 50% blown out whites, and what is going on exactly? it looks like a conversation, no musical feel here. I just see an out of place saxophone neck.

Too much white. Good try, though.

It almost works as a high key photo, but the burnt out highlights on the sax player's head suggests that this is overexposed instead. I really dislike it when an instrument blocks the eyes of a performer in the background, this can't possibly be deliberate.
